Adolf Stieler's Hand-Atlas
Gotha: Justus Perthes, Circa 1890. Illustrated. Hardcover. This antiquarian atlas collection is a complete volume consisting of ninety-five color folding maps. Thirty-one of these are loose-leaf maps which have separated from the binding, are folded in half, and numbered on the top right hand corner. The maps themselves are uncompromised. All other maps are bound. Extensive, 198-page index at the back. Half leather and brown cloth boards with gilt debossed lettering on front cover. Decorated end-papers. Boards are loose from the binding, held by thick ties at the joint. Backstrip has been eroded, yet the textblock is sound. Maps are detailed, colorful, and magnificent. A nice gift for any map collector.
