Allers Familj-Journal 1917

Germany: Allers Familj-Journal, 1917. Illustrated. First Edition. Hardcover. Written in German. Fifty-two issues bound in one. Paginated separately by issue with approximately 30 to 38 pages in each issue. Half leather and marbled paper boards. Gilt lettering stamped on the spine. This World War I era German journal is profusely illustrated with many items from photos to musical scores, to board game strategies, to needlepoint patterns, cartoons, advertisements and many other topics. Predominantly illustrated in black and white, but some pictures are in color. Dual columned. Approximately 1,800+ pages. This collection of issues bound in this book is quite heavy, weighing over 10 lbs.

CONDITION: External wear particularly at the spine joints and corners. Wear-through rubbing on the cover. Cracked at the gutter between page 4 and 5 of issue No. 2, yet boards are still affixed and the binding is sound with respectful care. Leaves have toned and are made of wood pulp, thus are more fragile, particularly when turning pages. Illustrations are delightful and diverse. An interesting copy.
