Illustrated with 400 cut engravings by Adams. Each page has pictorial decorative borders in various colors (gold, blue, red, green, and black, changing every couple of pages). Contains portions of the Christian Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, each with illustrations in order to explain specific words from the passage. There is also a hymn on every other page (so the Bible passages and hymns alternate). Some of the hymns are by Isaac Watts. 210pp. Covers have some spots of rubbing, staining, and a few places where their edges have been bumped. Writing within end-papers, but not inside text body. A portion of pages at their bottom right corner have moisture marks (doesn't hurt text). Moderate foxing within. A lovely copy of a rare book, one filled with stunning illustrations.
