Stewart was a prominent Scottish fundamentalist evangelist who also wrote books, started a publishing company and directed the Russian Bible Society. Stewart was the first preacher from the West to go behind the Iron Curtain after World War II. In 1970 there was a fire in his home leaving dark smoke marks on some books. There is no smoke odor.
First edition. Hardcover. Brown cloth with textured designs and gilt lettering. [viii], 252 pp. Doctor James A. Stewart's initials on paste down. Foxing and very minor marginalia on a few pages, does not hurt readability. Front paste down has a stamp and small amount of writing. Inner hinges have a small crack. Covers have general wear, some spots of discoloration. Chip out of the top of spine. While this book is a part of Doctor James A. Stewart's library, there are no smoke marks on this book apart from slight fading on the spine. A very nice copy. Full refund if not satisfied. Very Good.
