Cooperstown, NY: Otsego County Historical Society, No Date, copyright 1949. Illustrations; Photographs. First Edition. Hardcover. William Cooper established the village of Cooperstown in 1786. At the time, the area was part of Montgomery County. It was incorporated as the "Village of Otsego" on April 3, 1807. The name was changed to "Village of Cooperstown" in 1812 after the founder. Laid in is a limited copy of the Otsego Herald, a newspaper founded in 1796 with a commemorative County Holiday brochure dated June 28, 1953. Bibliography, 86 pp.
